Pastor D. Kevin Brown
Kevin is married to his wife Pam, (30+ years), and they have four adult children: Katy, married to Josh, and three grandchildren, Charlotte Evie, Milly, and Jonathan; Kandace, married to Clark Mayberry, and two grandchildren, Cam and Georgia; and teenagers, Clara and Andrew, both adopted from China.
Kevin has been pastoring here at MPBC since January 2006 and is considered a “homegrown” Pastor/Elder in that this is his home church. Kevin grew up in the community and has attended MPBC since he was a small boy. Kevin is truly an Acts-type elder in that the church appointed "one of its own" to do the work of leading, teaching and discipling within the body of believers. Prior to being led to the work of the pastorate, he worked as a businessman for 17+ years in the furniture, textile-apparel and millwork/hardwood flooring industries in various capacities within finance, sales and upper management.
He has degrees in Marketing and Management from Appalachian State University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1990. He also has degrees in Finance/Treasury through the Treasury Management Association of America and is a Certified Church Consultant (CCC).
Kevin has been teaching the Bible since he was 16 years old and he has traveled the world extensively doing mission-work in Ethiopia, China, Mexico and the Philippines. He loves spending time with his family and being a “Papa” to his grandchildren. He enjoys UNC Basketball, gardening, reading and writing.
