Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church's Center 5:20 plays a critical role in its ministries. The facilities are primarily used for worship, Bible Study, Christian teaching, mission training, sports activities, recreation, and fellowship of its members. We gladly make these facilities available for the use of the membership for other functions and activities. We ask that you read the following policies and guidelines carefully.

1. Center 5:20 - Fee Schedule – Members and Non-Members:
Reservations for birthday parties, showers, reunions, business meetings, conferences, holiday parties, etc. are available in six-hour blocks for $25.
**Members are not allowed to reserve the facility for non-members**
2. Any persons or group desiring to use any of the facilities at MPBC must agree to the terms of this document. A copy of these rules will be emailed to all persons when the reservation is made. No persons or groups shall use any of the facilities at MPBC without a reservation. Our facilities are not to be used for profit-making purposes.
3. Keys: An appointment must be made to pick up keys. Keys may only be picked up Monday thru Thursday 9 am-5 pm, no earlier than one week prior to your event. Contact Gena 336-973-3377 ext. 5 or

4. Clean-up: It is expected of the renter to clean up and leave the facility/area you use in the condition you found it.
5. Furnishings: The user is responsible for the return to the proper place of all tables, chairs, desks, etc. that have been moved. No chairs, tables, equipment, or property of the church may be removed from the buildings at any time. These items are for church use only.
6. Weapons: No weapons (excluding law enforcement officers and those with concealed carry licenses), alcohol, tobacco products or illegal drugs are to be brought onto or used on church property. No smoking is allowed inside or outside any of the facilities.
7. Heating & Air: Heating and air will be set for you prior to the event.
8. Trash: All trash is to be placed in dumpster behind Center 5:20 upon completion of your event.
9. Children: Children are to be supervised at all times. This includes any activities on the playground.
10. Lights: All lights are to be turned off upon leaving. All doors are to be locked. Persons or groups are liable for any damage inside or outside the rented areas.
11. Cancelation: The user is responsible for cancellation of the event due to inclement weather or for clearing walkways and entranceways if the event is held. MPBC has the right to cancel such events in inclement weather if it deems necessary.
12. Any personal food or drink placed in the refrigerator prior to an event should be labeled with the date that it is to be used and person responsible.
13. Supplies in the cabinets, storage room, and refrigerator of Center 5:20 are for church-sponsored functions only. (This includes paper plates, cups, bowls, disposable dinnerware, napkins, paper towels, tablecloths, drinks, dishcloths, trash bags, etc.) MPBC does not provide dish towels, etc. for use in clean-up.
14. All dishes, silverware, utensils, or equipment that is used should be thoroughly cleaned, dried, and returned to their proper storage area(s).
15. At the end of all functions, all leftover food (perishable and non-perishable) is to be removed from the premises. No food, drinks, etc. are to be left in the refrigerators. If any perishable food or drink is left in the refrigerators the food committee will remove all perishable items.
16. After a meal, please take all dishes home. Any left will be discarded.
17. Ice may be used from the ice maker/machine in the storage room.
Additions to Facilities Policy
1. We reserve the right to decline the request of any person to use Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church facilities or property for a ceremony when, in our judgment, there are significant concerns that one or both of the applicants may not be qualified to enter into a sacred union of marriage for theological, doctrinal, moral or legal reasons.
2. We reserve the right to decline the request of any person to use Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church facilities or property to host or house any group, function, or even inconsistent with the biblical standards for marriage and the “Statement on Marriage and Sexuality” section in the MPBC Bylaws (Article VII, pgs. 10-11).
3. Application of these guidelines and policies will be administered and exercised by the Elders/Pastors of the church.
Use Agreement
This agreement by and between
Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 231 Champion Mt. Pleasant Rd. Wilkesboro, NC 28697
(“Owner”), and
"User" WHEREAS, Owner owns premises located at 476 Champion Mt. Pleasant Rd. Ferguson, NC 28624 for the purpose of
"Purpose of Use", and WHEREAS, Owner has agreed to allow User to use the facilities provided that the following terms and conditions are met.
IT IS THEREFORE AGREED BY AND BETWEEN THE PARTIES:
1. Owner agrees to let User use the above-described premises for the above-described purpose on your reservation date and time, as selected below.
2. Fee Agreement: User agrees to pay owner a $25 rental fee in addition to a $25 security deposit for the use of the premises.
3. User agrees that it will not use the premises for any unlawful purposes, and will obey all laws, rules, and regulations of all governmental authorities while using the above-described facilities.
4. User agrees that it will not use the premises for any purpose that is contrary to the mission, purpose, or belief of the Owner, which is a biblically-based religious institution.
5. User agrees to abide by any rules or regulations for the use of the premises that are attached to this agreement.
6. User agrees that it is solely responsible to implement appropriate screening and supervision procedures to protect children, youth, and vulnerable adults attending user’s function at the above-described facilities.
7. User agrees to hold harmless, indemnify and defend Owner (including Owner’s agents, employees, and representatives) from any and all liability for injury or damage including, but not limited to, illness, exposure to infectious/communicable disease, bodily injury, personal injury, emotional injury, or property damage which may result from any person using the above-described premises, its entrances and exits, and surrounding areas, for User’s purposes, regardless of whether such injury or damage results from the negligence of the Owner (including Owner’s agents, employees, and representatives) or otherwise.
8. User agrees to be responsible for preparing for use and returning to the pre-use condition all areas of the premises which User will use, including entrances and exits.
9. User agrees to conduct a visual inspection of the premises, including entrances and exits, prior to each use and warrants that the premises will be used only if it is in a safe condition.
10. This agreement may be canceled unilaterally by either party with 24 hour written notice to the other party by email.
10.5. In the event that Owner must cancel this agreement, User will be entitled to any deposit User has paid. However, in no event will Owner be liable to User for any loss profits or incidental, indirect, special, or consequential damages arising out of User’s inability to use the above-described premises, even if Owner has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
11. User agrees that it will not assign any of its rights under this agreement, and any such assignment will void this agreement at the sole option of the Owner.
12. Owner and User agree that any disputes arising under this agreement will be resolved via a mutually acceptable alternative dispute resolution process. If Owner and User cannot mutually agree upon such a process, the dispute will be submitted to a three-member arbitration panel of the American Arbitration Association for final resolution.
13. This document contains the entire agreement of the parties and supersedes all prior written or oral agreements relating to the subject matter.
